Charlie's Page

Charlie was born on August 4, 2001, and lives with the Tishler Family in Thornhill.  We got him through Rainbow Park.

Here he is 6.5 weeks old and weighs 8.9 pounds. He is a beautiful golden colour. Mom was a Golden Retriever and Dad was a golden Standard Poodle apparently with a lot of red in him. His littermates on this site are Peeko and Yankee.  He is perfect!

Interestingly, we were #28 on the waiting list, and he was one of 7 in the litter. So less than 1/4 of the people on the list are taking dogs. We were #47 on Lovina's list and she called us yesterday. I couldn't believe it. I thought it would take so much longer. I think the readers on the website would be relieved to know that the waits aren't as long as one would think.
Am I loved?
Most certainly!

Our first night with Charlie was REALLY BAD. I got NO sleep. Part of the reason is that he is being treated for a parasite, and he soiled his crate twice. I was actually doing laundry in the middle of the night. Last night went much better. He only cried once at 4:30....same reason. This time it was only 1 load of towels. He sleeps alot during the day, but loves to play. Watching him discover things is so much fun. He is afraid of the TV!! We will keep you posted.

I've attached pictures of the "after" following Charlie's 1st haircut. It went very well, he wasn't shaved, the groomer can be trusted and I think he still looks like a Dood, albeit a nice trim one. There's a posting about haircuts on the web-site, so I thought some people might find it helpful to see what it can look like.

handsome haircut

cool Dood

Just so you're convinced that we're nuts here are some photos of our dog's birthday party. He got a special treat as a present (a peanut butter dog lollipop) that he loved, and we wouldn't let him rip up the hat which would have been the BEST treat of all. Sadly, no cake, but its only because of the other imminent family birthdays, so the humans will get their fill.

....do we know how to have fun, or what????!!!
