In the past two months our website has seen some record high traffic. March 2007 was our highest month ever with over 5.5 millions hits to the site that month. There's no denying that Doods are more popular than ever.

Addison's DNA study - The ALA has been accepted to be included in the Addison's DNA study on Poodles at UC Davis. More information regarding the study will be included in these newsletters, as it becomes available. For more on the study - LINK
Waltham Canine Gene Collection - Linda Rogers of Timshell Farms is working in study which is a continuation of the Dog Genome Project. RABIES CHALLENGE FUND
"Two anonymous donors have generously pledged to match all donations of $100 or more to The Rabies Challenge Fund up to $20,000 from May 1st through November 1st.
...The concurrent vaccine studies will determine the duration of immunity conveyed by the canine rabies vaccine, with the goal of extending the state-mandated interval for boosters to 5, and then to 7 years.
...Scientific data suggest that vaccinating dogs against rabies every three years, as most states require, is unnecessary.
...Researchers believe the rabies vaccine can cause adverse reactions in animals and concur that it should not be given more often than is necessary"
