LUCY'S COOKIES INGREDIENTS: 3 Cups whole wheat or brown rice flour 1/2 Cup powdered milk 3/4 Cup hot water, minus 1 TBS 1/3 Cup margarine 1 egg, beaten with a fork 1 TBS molasses Pinch of salt DIRECTIONS: - Put margarine in a bowl and pour hot water in, stir until margarine is melted. - Stir in the powdered milk, salt, molasses and the beaten egg and mix well. - Slowly add flour, stirring until evenly moistened. - Kneed mixture to form a stiff ball of dough. (If it's TOO stiff, moisten with another TBS of molasses.) - Roll out dough to a thickness of approximately 1/3 of an inch, and cut into bone or other shape(s). - Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bisquits will not spread or rise, so they can be placed very close together. - Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. - Cool, then store bisquits in air-tight container or zip-loc. Keep in the refrigerator.
